We’ll share Grandma’s time-honored tips, the right ingredients, the perfect mixing technique, and the precise baking time to achieve that golden, flaky crust.Let’s bring the tradition of pie baking back to life. It’s time to roll up our sleeves, flour our hands, and bake some beautiful memories together!
In this hands-on class, we’ll deliver the techniques of how to make 3 types of crust—creating a flaky crust with butter, and another crust using shortening and butter and pâte sablée. We’ll teach you how to make the dough by hand and successfully roll it out, show you what “par-baking” and “blind-baking” a crust means, and also how to crimp the edges to make your pies look beautiful. Pie flavors for this class are Apple Harvest Pie, Cranberry Tart with Almond Frangipane, and Black-bottom pecan pie.
Duration: 4-5 hours -times may vary based on student skills and group size.
Cake Specs: 8” diameter – 1 layer. This cake is designed for buttercream and fondant decorating.
